Dr. Stephanie Ross is the newest member of Ross Eyecare Group. Born and bred in Atlanta, she graduated from Woodward Academy in 2009. She then graduated from the Honors Program at the University of Georgia in 2013.
She received two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Biology and the other in Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience. As a research assistant in the UGA Vision Science and Human Biofactors Lab, Dr. Ross studied the effects of lutein and zeaxanthin on macular pigment optical density and visual function in patients with age-related macular degeneration. During all four years at UGA, she was a Varsity Coed Cheerleader for both football and basketball teams while her team also trained to compete for a national title.
She completed her Doctorate of Optometry with Honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She was awarded the Clinical Excellence Award for Contact Lenses and the Eschenbach Award for Low Vision. Dr. Ross provides general and pediatric eye care with an emphasis in specialty contact lenses. These lenses include corneal gas permeable and scleral lenses for patients with high degrees of astigmatism, keratoconus, scarring from infection or trauma, or complications from refractive surgery.
